Tariff Update - NS 8001 - Effective 5.03.2025

Norfolk Southern is adopting updates to the Switching and Absorption Tariff 8001-A effective May 3, 2025. Please reference the PDF download for further details. For any questions regarding these updates, please contact your Norfolk Southern representative.

Effective May 3, 2025, Norfolk Southern (NS) will be making changes to the following tariffs: 

• Switching and Absorption Tariff NS 8001-A

Below is a brief description of the changes to the tariffs. 

• All references to KCS changed to CPRS
• Item 4105: Removed KCS, updated CPRS charge to $600
•  Item 4120: Updated to reflect current charge of $1,000 for CSXT 
• Item 6000: New note defining application of connecting carriers in regards to intermediate switching
