Tariff Update NS 8002-A, Effective 12.1.2024

Effective December 1, 2024, Norfolk Southern is adopting updates to the Accessorial Service Rules and Charges Tariff 8002-A In an effort to improve service and enhance the safety of our network. Please reference the attached files for further details. For any questions regarding these updates, please contact your Norfolk Southern representative.

Effective December 1, 2024, Norfolk Southern (NS) will be making changes to the following tariffs:

• Accessorial Service Rules and Charges Tariff NS 8002-A

Below is a brief description of the changes to the tariffs.

• Item 6515 – Cars Found to be Leaking Hazardous Materials: INCREASE charge to all-inclusive fee of $15,000.
 

• Item 6517 – Cars Found to be Leaking Non-Hazardous Materials: INCREASE charge to all-inclusive fee of $10,000.
 

• Item 6555 – Empty Cars Rejected in Error: NEW ITEM with charge of $1,000.
 

• Item 6570 – Boxcar and Hopper Door Closure & Security Requirements: NEW ITEM with charge of $1,000.
