OGLE WINSTON LINK

About Ogle Winston Link

Ogle Winston Link, known commonly as O. Winston Link, was an American photographer best known for his black-and-white photography and sound recordings of the last days of steam locomotives railroading on the Norfolk & Western line in the United States in the late 1950s. Link was also considered a pioneer in night photography as he employed an elaborate system that synchronized dozens of flashes to strike simultaneously in order to capture locomotives in action at night. Link's work is increasingly seen and appreciated for the degree to which he controlled, planned, and constructed each image and his techniques have been influential to many well-known contemporary artists.
