Tariff Update NS 8002-A, Effective 10.20.2022

Dear NS Customer, Rail Business Partner and NS Tariff Subscriber:

The Port of Indiana has chosen to create a new shortline railroad (Burns Harbor Shortline – BHS) to serve the Port. NS has updated our tariff as below to reflect these new operational changes.

Effective October 20, 2022, Norfolk Southern (NS) will be making changes to the following tariffs:

• Switching and Absorption Rules and Charges Tariff NS 8002-A

Below is a brief description of the changes to the tariffs.

NS 8001-A, Switching and Absorption Rules and Charges:

• Item 1090 – Defnitions.  ADD definition of Terminal Switching.
• Item 2000 Absorption of Switch Charges – Add exception 3 regarding absorption of switch charges interchanging with BHS.
• NEW Item 7125 – Burns Harbor, IN (Midwest Portage, IN; Portage, IN)
