Public Tariff Announcement NSQ 8001-A & 6306-A , Effective 10.01.2024

Effective 10.1.2024:

Norfolk Southern continuously strives to improve the experience of our customers and enhance the value of our services. In pursuit of these goals, and to better align NS service goals and customer expectations, NS will now allow municipal solid waste to be transported in gondolas with posi-shell cover applied. We encourage you to take time to review the below updates in detail and share within your organization.

Effective October 1, 2024, Norfolk Southern (NS) will be making changes to the following tariff:

• Municipal Solid Waste, Contaminated Soil, Hazardous Materials, and Related Articles - NS 6306-A
• NS 8001-A, Switching and Absorption Rules and Charges

• New Rule 220 - Add guidance for shipping Municipal Solid Waste with posi-shell cover applied
 

NS 8001-A, Switching and Absorption Rules and Charges:

• Item 6060 - Cleveland, OH - Increase switching charge for CSXT & CCRL
