In the wake of recent record demand, NS is making multiple changes and upgrades at Landers to increase capacity and prepare for future growth and improve the driver experience, including:
- Increased Capacity
- NS reconfigured footprint to increase stacked container capacity by 60%.
- Additional reach-stackers (3 in service and 3 more coming) to increase lift capacity by 40% an hour and reduce driver dwell for pickups.
- Reconfiguration of Lot Space – based on feedback from the drayage community, our secondary, non wide-span-crane stack is now subdivided into 10 unique stacks with the intent of lessening container handling and ease of location to reduce driver dwell.
- Terminal Hours – Landers continues to remain open 24/7. We encourage drivers to take advantage of off-peak hours.
With record demand expected to continue, and further growth in the pipeline, NS is taking action to increase capacity and improve efficiency at Landers for customers and their drayage partners.
